Registration to DIESELS WEST RAIL SHOTS is easy and fast. After you fill out the information on our Registration page, you will be sent an e-mail to activate your account. We only ask that you have a unique e-mail address.
Once your account is activated, you can begin uploading items. Please refer to the guidelines below to help you upload your items correctly.
GUIDELINES FOR
UPLOADING YOUR ITEMS
You must be
registered to upload items, and to view certain categories
All still images will be screened for quality and content.
Only images of 1024 to 2000 pixel width will be added to the gallery(tall images must be at least 900 pixels in height)
COPYRIGHT
Copyright ownership for any media uploaded here remains yours.
You may want to note your copyright in the item description section of
your item
(i.e. Copyright 2013 John G. Railfan).
A Rail Shots 'watermark' will be overlaid on each image when it is shown
in the gallery.
The Rail Shots administrators will
remove all objectionable media and comments from the gallery.
VIDEO CLIPS
Video clip quality should be at least 512kbps or high quality small(320x240
pixels), with an audio sampling rate of at least 22kHz(preferably 44kHz)
- When uploading a video clip, have your thumbnail image ready to go,
as you will need to upload it with the video clip. Make it at least 150
pixel width. Rail Shots will automatically size it for a thumbnail. Video
formats: .mpeg,.mpg,.avi,.asf,.wmv,.mov
SOUND CLIPS
Sound clips should be in the .wav format
and be recorded using a 16 bit, 44kHz sampling rate. 22kHz is also acceptable,
but 44kHz is preferred.
When you have registered, and activated your account,
and you are ready to upload an item, click on the Upload Media
link:
AVATARS
You can upload an avatar of your own, from your Profile section.
Click Edit Profile. Just browse your hard drive to find your image.
Your Avatar image needs to be a 150 pixel width jpeg. The height can be
50 to 150 pixels. You may change your avatar at any time by simply uploading
another one.
COMMENTING & MESSAGING
When making a comment or sending a message to another user in Rail
Shots, you can use BBCode
in the text window, to modify the text, or to insert an image or hyperlink.
BBCode can also be used to create your signature.
