Burnham Shops - Rio Grande Ski Train passenger cars

October 25, 2006 - Ski Train passenger equipment(club cars) gets it's first dose of snow outside Burnham Shops in Denver. The D&RGW began operating the Ski Train in 1947. The original all-steel passenger cars were sold to the Napa Valley Wine Train, and replaced with Tempo cars purchased from Via Rail. In 1974, D&RGW tried to drop the operation of the Ski Train, but fans protested and it was kept. It didn't hurt that Phil Anschutz was himself a fan of the train.
